英國遊戲網站 MCV 首先報導了 Sony 計劃在今年內在英國推出一款名為「Ultimate Edition」（終極版本）的 PlayStation 4 套裝，其實就是將 PlayStation 4 和 PlayStation Vita 一同販賣，就在報導刊登不久之後，另一個遊戲網站 VideoGamer 就公布了一張相信是來自 Sony 官方宣傳品的照片，顯示了其在 12 月就會發售。其實，這個傳聞很合常理，第一，PlayStation 4 具有 Remote Play 功能，就是將遊戲畫面串流到 PlayStation Vita 上供玩家在手持機上享受，另外十二月正是西方文化濃厚地區的聖誕禮物採購季節，所以宣傳圖日期是真確也不出奇。目前 Sony 已向 Joystiq 確認目前沒有在北美推出這套裝的計劃，不知道其他地區會如何了。
