宏達電第2季業績在雙旗艦蝴蝶機及新HTC One的帶動下，達成財測目標，但6月營收已出現下滑，7月營收下降的幅度更大，自結7月合併營收157億元，較6月衰退28.95%，營收下滑利空抵消庫藏股買進的力道，6日股價再收黑，終場以148.5元作收，下跌4.5元，跌幅2.94%。
宏達電7月營收持續較6月下滑，較去年同期250億元衰退37.15%，營收表現衰退的警鐘大響；以宏達電在法說會中釋出第3季營收500-600億元來看，即使要達低標，8、9月的營收至少要343億元，單月營收平均要171.5億元。
宏達電先前在法說會中預估，第3季營收約500-600億元，毛利率約18-21%，營業利益率約0至-8%，第3季本業恐怕出現虧損或是只能達到損益兩平。宏達電指出，第3季將是營運谷底，計畫在未來幾個月推出許多創新且具競爭力的中階產品，期待第4季能再度展現成長動能並提升市占率。
外資則是看淡宏達電下半年的表現，紛紛調降目標價至百元以下，最低降至71元，股價也連續3天重挫，宏達電5日開始實施庫藏股救股價，但外資匯豐證最新報告卻指出，根據過去實施庫藏股的記錄，宏達電庫藏股的效果恐怕有限，重申減碼評等，目標價98元；7月營收冷，衝擊6日股價表現，股價開低走低，一度下探至147元，盤中跌幅逾3%。
