兩度角逐高雄市長失利的考試院考試委員黃俊英，今天清晨病逝高雄。台中市長胡志強得知後說，他與黃俊英公誼私交都很深厚，遺憾聽到死訊，國家也失去人才，黃為人忠厚良善，當年高雄市長選舉些微之差落敗，只能默然接受，否則是個很好的市長。

黃俊英與胡志強曾是中山大學同事，2006年黃俊英參選高雄市長，胡志強偕妻邵曉鈴南下助選，回程卻發生車禍，胡志強受輕傷，但邵曉鈴傷重左手截肢。
