美聯社報導，一名13歲的泰國女孩在搭乘夜間火車失蹤3天後，泰國警方8日發現她的屍體，且證實遭人強暴後殺害。此案在泰國極為轟動，社群媒體上有人要求將強暴犯處死。

泰國警方說，搜救人員8日在巴蜀府的鐵道附近發現遇害女孩的屍體，且已逮捕1名鐵路工人，嫌犯供認在攻擊且強暴女孩後，把她從行駛中的火車拋出。

警方還說，遇害女孩是跟2名姐妹同行，搭乘臥艙從泰國南部前往曼谷。那列火車是許多背包客經常搭乘的熱門列車。
