六協盃亞洲青年廚師刀工藝術大賽

2014年六協盃亞洲青年廚師刀工藝術大賽，31日起在雲林環球科技大學舉行二天，比賽項目分為大專及高職組「中式刀工」、「三人蔬果雕」、「日式刀工」、「杯飲裝飾刀工」、「現場蔬果雕」、「冰雕」等十二項，積分冠軍可獲「刀王之王獎盃」，獎盃由100支專業用刀組合而成，象徵滿分的榮耀，並在刀塔上的刀王上刻下名字。

校方今日現場展覽冰雕、蔬果雕等藝術創作；校長許舒翔表示，刀工是廚藝的基本，但國內缺少世界性比賽，優秀選手得到國外參賽，校方決心創造刀工競技舞台，希望爭取世界廚師協會的認同，未來能在台灣辦國際性比賽，吸引國際選手來台交流，提供國內優秀廚師表演的舞台。（寶智華／雲林報導）
