橫跨化學、塑膠、橡膠及太陽能等產業的李長榮集團再次進攻新創事業，將跨足觸控面板製程市場。

李長榮集團再進攻新創事業，看好凹板轉印技術的市場潛力，李長榮化工自去年與工研院機械所展開先期合作研究，同時與工研院、台灣大學、恆橋產業及誠霸科技等產學研單位組成「精密凹板轉印技術」研發聯盟，跨足觸控面板製程市場。
李長榮指出，「精密凹板轉印技術」研發聯盟，針對精密凹板轉印製程關鍵技術中的轉印介質、設備、塗料及模具等材料及模組進行水平整合開發及加速落實技術產業化。近期還獲得經濟部業界科專支持，預計有助國內相關技術的自主研發，強化產業競爭力。
集團董事長李謀偉表示，「李長榮集團長期致力於提供產業創新、差異化產品，在研發上不斷創造永續的價值。本技術所製作之大尺寸觸控元件能提供國內完整產業供應鏈，進而降低生產成本，並打造台灣成為綠色科技島，提昇國內觸控面板產業於國際上之競爭優勢。」
他表示，目前觸控技術應用範疇正大舉拓展至個人電腦，大尺寸觸控面板可望在未來日益普及，但目前生產技術上面臨ITO薄膜片電阻過大、透光度不足、製程繁複、良率低以致成本高等問題。目前熱門的金屬網格新技術，被認為將有機會成為大尺寸觸控應用主流技術之一。廠商未來若能自主生產金屬網格關鍵導電材料及觸控模組才有機會佔得市場優勢。
根據國際研究機構Displaybank指出，2014年觸控面板市場規模將達156億美金，年成長超過100%。李謀偉強調，凹板轉印製程技術具有量產特性、製程簡化、不會破壞印刷基版及線寬可達業界規格等優勢，被視為取代黃光微影的綠色製程技術之一，所製作出的金屬網絡結構，可突破大尺寸觸控元件所需的高透光度及低電性等技術瓶頸，進而提供大尺寸觸控面板作為材料。
這次科專合作將從2013年7月至2015年2月，以20個月的時間完成23吋金屬網格觸控元件之凹板轉印製程技術。未來計畫技術指標成功達成後，李長榮化工除了能提供凹板轉印製程技術給產業完整的解決方案外，相關的材料與零組件皆由國內自主研發，將能大幅降低生產成本，不僅增強大尺寸觸控面板產業之競爭力，還能衍生應用到感測元件、太陽能電池、軟性PCB及軟性電子等產業。
