聲援大埔民眾18日舉行遊行，接著圍攻內政部，在辦公大樓廣場前靜坐表達不滿，經過一天的抗議，活動於19日晚間6點正式結束。名嘴周玉蔻認為，這次事件與日前白衫軍上街頭完全不同，白衫軍是要求真相和軍中人權，霸占內政部完全是職業抗爭者鬧事。
大埔事件越演越烈，苗栗縣政府在今年7月拆除大埔張藥局民宅，引發聲援民眾不滿，除了不定期向總統、行政院長嗆聲，大埔自救會等團體更在18日舉行「818拆政府行動」晚會，隨後又轉往內政部靜坐抗議，一直到19日傍晚才宣告結束。
周玉蔻19日在個人微博上批評，抗議學生圍攻內政部噴漆翻牆，行為完全違法。她認為這次集會是意識型態之爭，是職業抗爭者鬧事，和洪仲丘案白衫軍要求真相和軍中人權完全不一樣！
此外，她也批評警方毫無做為，既然已經舉牌警告，為何不出動強勢警力驅逐，她點名被視為馬家軍的警政署長王卓鈞，對本次事件的處理方式，完全是「窩囊」、「沒用」。
這場抗議活動，內政部後來由次長蕭家淇出面回應群眾，但民眾不滿他對四項訴求「道歉賠償、地歸原主、徹查弊案、立即修法」未能有正面回應，一度潑水驅趕、場面相當混亂。
