作客鳳凰城的火箭，險被太陽給燒毀，幸好在第四節逆轉雙位數落後局面，並靠著Patrick Beverley關鍵5分攻勢，以115比112驚險射下太陽。

火箭第一節打得輕鬆寫意，繳出30比16成績，第二節雖再砍30分，但也守不住太陽被拿了40分，上半場打完只剩下4分領先。

太陽狂奪40分的因素在Goran Dragic，單局砍進4顆三分球，光第二節就拿下18分，Dwight Howard半場受訪時曾說，要箝制太陽得設法讓 Dragic少出手，看起來球隊沒有做好。

第三節輪到Gerald Green跳出來，單節砍下18分，尤其響哨前大號三分球，讓火箭帶著10分落後進入第四節。

落後的火箭第四節有所反彈，最後一分鐘把比分追到108比108，而在倒數45秒火箭有2分落後James Harden持球切入，吸引包夾後傳給外線的Beverley三分破網。

Beverley又在Green 出手不進後搶到籃板並要到犯規，且上罰球線拿走2分，跟著太陽喊出暫停，之後 Dragic切入得手，火箭還以113比112領先。
