德建築師為蒙古規劃興建環保城市

德國建築師為蒙古規劃興建可容納30萬人的現代化環保城市，以解決蒙古都會區發展的問題。建築師告訴德國媒體，如果蒙古國會通過計畫，麥達城在2030年就可讓居民進駐。

計劃中的麥達城（Maidar City）距離蒙古首都烏蘭巴托（Ulan-Bator）約30公里。曾經在中國大陸的天津等地參與都會建設的建築師史密茲（Stefan Schmitz）指出，雖然蒙古地廣人稀，由於人口向都會區移居，烏蘭巴托人口爆滿，水電等基礎設施早已不敷遽增的人口所需。

除了都會區人口爆滿的問題，過去30年蒙古土地沙漠化的情況非常嚴重，目前有1/4的土地已成沙漠。

史密茲表示，新規劃的城市除了大學、博物館和宗教中心等設施，還規劃了考慮到生態保護的水及電力供應系統，以及能永續發展的農業地帶。

規劃中的新城應可容納30萬居民。如果今年開始動工，預定在2030年完成的設施就可先讓9萬人進駐。
