高雄市長陳菊今（8）天參訪日月光新完工的中水回收廠，關心該廠廢水的循環利用情形，面臨全台缺水危機，她除肯定日月光善盡企業和社會責任，也呼籲全民節約用水、共體時艱，攜手度過限水危機。

日月光斥資11.5億元，於楠梓加工出口區內分兩期打造全國規模最大的工業廢水回收廠「中水回收廠」，其中第一期工程投資7.5億元，每日可處理約2萬噸排放水，回收使用約1萬噸，預計4月15日完成試車，通過市府環保局審查後正式啟用，陳菊下午逐樓參觀產水採樣口、實際取水等作業方式。

陳菊表示，氣候變遷劇烈，全台旱象未解，北台灣已啟動第三階段限水，面臨未來的水源危機，她鼓勵更多企業永續經營水資源，該廠未來亦將開放給各級學校、鄰里社區及民眾，做為教學運用，讓孩子從小珍惜水資源，愛護生態環保，使中水廠除了發揮節水功能外，更賦予環境永續發展的教育意義。
