愈來愈多德國人捨私家車搭大眾運輸

愈來愈多德國人上班、出遊和購物是搭乘大眾運輸系統的地下鐵、巴士、鐵路區間車和快車，而非自己駕車。2014年搭乘大眾運輸系統的111億人次較2013年成長0.6%。

根據德國聯邦統計局的資料，絕大多數搭乘大眾運輸系統的人是短程旅途的乘客；旅客人次成長最多的是城鎮間的區間車和郊區與市區間的快車。

由此推斷，愈來愈多通勤的上班族和學生寧可搭乘大眾運輸系統，而非自己駕車。

德國在2013年才全面開放境內長程巴士市場。如雨後春筍般新興的巴士公司在這兩年搶走不少鐵路的顧客。去年鐵路乘客有1億2900萬人次，較前年減少1.8%；去年長程巴士的乘客估計在1700萬到1900萬人次之間，較前年成長1倍。
